Remembrance Commemorations

At this time of year, the Squadron takes time to reflect on the sacrifice made by the members of our Armed Forces to allow us the freedoms we enjoy each and every day and all those who have died in conflict.

Falkirk Festival of Remembrance 2015

The Festival of Remembrance is an annual commemorative event organised by Falkirk Council and the British Royal Legion and hosted at Falkirk Town Hall. The audience warmly welcomed compere Bill Black, local soprano Alexandra Baer, the Bo’ness and Carriden Band, Kilfauns Step Dancers and Grangemouth High School Singers on stage as part of the event. After the intermission we were very pleased to be able to fly our new Squadron banner for the first time as part of the muster of standards. Sergeant Sean Braeken-Gray had the honor of marching it in followed by his escorts, Sergeant Sam Fraser and Sergeant Andrew Macleod to take their place on stage with the other military and civilian organisations which were represented.

Old Polmont Parish Church

On Remembrance Sunday we were invited to Old Polmont Parish Church for their church service followed by the wreath laying ceremony at their cenotaph. Undeterred by the poor weather, Corporal Craig Smith escorted by Corporal Morgan Hardy and Cadet Aqib Iftikhar marched the Squadron banner to the cenotaph followed by a flight of cadets and staff from the Squadron. Sergeant Sean Braeken-Gray laid the Squadron wreath on behalf of the Air Training Corps.
