470 Remembers

The weekend of Remembrance Sunday is a very special time for many of us. A time of reflection and thanks for all those who gave their lives to give us the freedoms we enjoy today.

The cadets and staff from 470 (Falkirk) Squadron were very pleased to remember the fallen at a number of events spanning the weekend of the 12th and 13th of November 2016.

Old Polmont Parish Church – Remembrance Sunday Service

We have been warmly welcomed by the congregation from Old Polmont Parish Church for a number of years now and it is always a pleasure to represent the Air Training Corps and RAF at their service of remembrance.

Following the church service Pilot Officer Esson laid a wreath on behalf of the Royal Air Force and the Air Training Corps.

Festival of Remembrance 2016 – Saturday 12th Nov – Falkirk Town Hall

The annual Festival of Remembrance is a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together and commemorate the fallen. Each year we see a choice selection of local talent entertain the audience before the muster of the standards and with the proceeds going to Poppy Scotland it should not be missed.

Standard bearers and escorts from across Sector 6 West Scotland Wing with Group Captain Bob Kemp CBE QVRM AE DL – former RAF aviator and Director of the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund in Scotland and Northern Ireland. 470 (Falkirk), 867 (Denny) and 1333 (Grangemouth Spitfire) Squadrons all represented.
