The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme was originally founded in 1956 and has become one of the most well known awards that young people can work towards.

The Air Training Corp is the largest single entity operating the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme in the country and 470 Squadron tries to get every cadet enrolled to take part. At any one time we have cadets participating in Bronze, Silver and Gold schemes and have an excellent record of participation.

The scheme allows a cadet to work towards a number of set goals in core disciplines in order to attain an award.
