We have remembered..

This week saw an important date in the year. One that perhaps isn’t as recognised, or as prominent, or as joyous as others, but, it is perhaps the most important.

This week saw us bow heads, and look to the past, as we paid respects on Remembrance Sunday, and the 11th November.

470 was proud to parade alongside veterans and families. We were honoured to stand in uniform to pay our respects. We were resolute as we remembered those who paid for our freedom and way of life with theirs.

OiC 470 Sqns thoughts – “I am thoroughly proud of both my cadet and staff teams as they gave up personal time and shared these moments with me.

Sunday 9th November was a cold, dark and dreich day. Typical of a Scottish November. We were soaked through, but not one complained, or spoke ill of the event. All stood in smartly presented uniform thinking deeply.

After, we dried out, we got warm again, and most importantly we went home.

They did not.

It is that our young cadets, the young generation, do not forget and cherish their memory that is so important.

As OiC, I cannot ask for more.”

We will remember them..
